I only worked at VV a couple of months, but I was lucky enough to meet Marvel! One of her favorite things was to come out of her room at night and sit at a table and have a snack. When I was there I would always walk her back to her room, set her on the bed and sit down beside her, put my arm around her and tell her what a sweet person she was. She would always lay her head on my shoulder and tell me that she was so tired. She would also always tell me whether (in her opinion) if I was warm or cold. Sitting with her gave me an opportunity to give my feet and back a little time to relax, but I think we both got something more out of it! I helped her get situated in her bed with legs crossed at the ankle and a couple of blankets. I am so sorry for the loss of this beautiful lady. I will always remember her!

I loved my great aunt Marvel….I have amazing memories of this wonderful lady. One of the highlights of visiting Glasgow when I was young was always going to her house….seeing the quilt she was working on….sitting in the cool booth in her kitchen and just being around her. She always had kind words and interesting conversation. I know that she and my dad…and all our family that had passed on before us are visiting and laughing and enjoying one another’s company once again. Rest in Peace my dear lady. I will never forget you.
