In the early morning hours of June 7, 2019, Jason slipped his earthly bonds to soar off on his next adventure!
Jason Michael Dahl was born to Phyllis & Keith Dahl on September 26, 1977 in Glasgow, MT. He joined a sister, Leta- who eventually made him an uncle to Garrett, Cody, Dillon, Laci and a brother-in-law to Chuck.
Jason graduated from Glasgow High School in 1996 and continued to make Glasgow his home. Northeast Montana provided Jason with an endless amount of open spaces to let his restless spirit roam, whether it was setting off sparkler bombs on the Milk River, fishing at Fort Peck or roaming the hills looking for rocks, wild Echinacea or just good old rusty junk!
Jason worked in construction most of his life and was a master tile layer. He had the skills to match his imagination. He was always tinkering with different projects- building and creating. The end result would almost always leave you awestruck!
When he wasn’t working, he had a passion for living life. He was an animal lover, flyer of remote control airplanes, motorcycle rider, and a snowmobile junkie who had the compassion to help anybody in any situation and could BS with the best of them!
Jason is preceded in death by his grandparents, Bert & Bennie Lingle and Norm Dahl. He is survived by his mother Phyllis Dahl; father Keith Dahl; sister Leta (Chuck) Godwin; grandmother Fay Dahl; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many people he called friends. Even with his wild imagination, he’ll never know the impact he had on so many!

Jason was one of my first and best friends. We built a cabin together along the Milk river when we were 12. We would hunt, target shoot, smoke swisher sweets that he lifted off his old man, and fish the Milk. We made a promise early on that we would both become mountain men in the Rockies. Another memory was when his dog, Moose, died. Jason tried to pass it off like it was nothing, but then he broke down and cried and cried. The last time we were together was third or fourth ridge we were on separate hunts, but happened to see one another. I remember thinking, “Dahl is living up to the promise to be an outdoorsman, at least.” A couple weeks ago when he figured that he was going to die, I reached out to him and we talked about old days. We affirmed our friendship and mutual love. We also talked about my grandma. She explained the Gospel to Jason when we were kids. I know Jason did not live well, he was hard on himself and his body, but he was right with God in the end. I’m going to miss you, my friend. Love you. My heart goes out to Phylis and Fay and the rest of the Dahl family.

Jason is my cousin. He and I were close as kids. Cant tell you all the stories and memories i have with Jason in them. The big one that comes to mind occured when we were…must have been 10 or 11 yrs old. It was Xmas vacation from school, 1st day Jason came to my house to stay the night. Well i got the great idea of mixing flammable liquids in a shallow plastic bowl, we stayed up all night dunking my action figures in this liquid, and lighting them on fire atop a piece of plywood on my bedroom. We fell asleep only to awake early the next morning and started right back at the dangerous entertainment, but this time i took a action figure that was on fire and put it in the bowl of liquid!!! Well it was them a bowl of flames that just kept burning, i panicked and attempted to pick up bowl very carefully and was going to dump it down the bathroom sink!! But as soon as i stood up the liquid shifted in the bowl and spilled all over my clothes, t shirt was ablaze and Jason was telling me to lie down and roll which I thought was best bet, he was hitting me with a blanket trying to get flames out, which he finally did but I had pretty bad burns on my chest and belly and burned my hair off pretty good. Long story but Jason saved me from much worse injuries and maybe my life. As children Jason was more than willing to step in and fight my fights, and always had my back. I only wish i could have been closer in geography to maybe have his.

I dated Jason when we were young, about 18. He was my first love! We were very close and we had alot of good times. We chose different roads tho, and unfortunately knew each other less & less for the 2 decades that followed after we stopped dating. The last few months when he was sick, we reconnected thro texting and that felt good. I didn’t realize how sick he was, he really didn’t complain to me about it. We had a future lunch date as friends, to catch up and so he could meet my daughter. Sadly that day never came, and I never got to see him or say goodbye. He was unique and the world will be a colder place for me knowing that he is gone. I wish him happiness and eternity with God.
