Ellen Fors, 61, passed away on February 24, 2016.
She was born Feb 6, 1955 in Rexburg, Idaho, but her life really began when she married John Fors on July 1, 1981. Together they had many adventures living in extremely remote places like Yellowstone Park and Alaska. Ellen happily took on every adventure as long as she was by John’s side.
Ellen’s primary focus in life was God and her family. She was kind and caring and loved giving things away to others. An avid arts and crafts lady, she spent thousands of hours with her children and grandchildren creating new projects. She had a strong addiction to purchasing craft bags and patterns, and would occasionally have to give away handfuls so she could make room to buy more.
She fought a fierce battle with multiple health ailments for many years, and now she is at peace. She will be greatly missed by survivors’ husband; John Fors, son; Paul Smith, daughter; Rebekah Abern, grandchildren; McKayla Smith, McKaydee Smith, Kyson Smith, Guinevere Abern and Jackson Abern, sisters; Jennifer Hayes and Millie Kolakowski, and daughter and son in law; Brier Smith and Jared Abern. She is preceded in death by parents; Louis and Lora Hayes, and a son; John David Fors.
A private remembrance ceremony will be held at a later date.

Paul Smith says
I didn’t meet my mother until later in life. When I was born my mom Ellen decided that she wanted me to have a better life and put me up for adoption. During my Jr. year of high school we reconnected and the family welcomed me with open arms.
Over the years I have spent lots of time with Mom, and many late nights on the phone just chatting, talking about knitting and sharing patterns. Talking about the grand kids and life.
One thing I have learned in life from her is forgiving and understanding of what love really means. She made the biggest sacrifice any mother can make by allowing a family to adopt and raise their child to hopefully have a better life. This is a true testament of loving someone to your full potential.
Mom I love you!
Bekah Abern says
My mom always gave me the world. She was the one who would make me smile when my heart was broken, the one whom I could always call when I’d had a bad day, the one who would always make sure I had my favorite cake on my birthday. She was in significant pain for many years, but always pushed through and fought to have a life worth living. She taught me about strength and forgiveness and love. I miss you Mom so much- things will never be the same without you. They fought hard to save you, but now you can finally be at peace. I love you and will miss you for the rest of my life.
