MIKE SLAATS says
So sorry to hear about Roy. He will be truly missed. He was a great asset to me when He worked for me at United Building Centers. He was a hard worker and always had a sense of humor. He and Ione always welcome us in their home. I am sorry that I will be out of town this weekend and will not be able to attend any of the services. My thoughts and prayers go out to all the family members during this time.

I was sad to hear of Roy’s passing. I grew up at the Pines when Roy was building his cabin. He was the resident rattlesnake killer and whenever somebody saw a rattlesnake, they would yell for Roy and he would come and take care of the problem! As a 10 year old, when somebody grabs a rattlesnake by the tail and head and smacks it against a tree, that is a memory I will never forget! He was a legend and the Pines won’t be the same without him!
It was fun growing up with the whole Wetzel family at the lake and I have many fond memories of Roy.
The Baker family thoughts and prayers are with you during this time.

FROM MIKE AND GAYLA BARBIER: As Roy`s younger half-sister, we shared the same father. Now As I reminisce, I am reminded of many memorable times spent with Roy and the family. He was always a loving and caring Brother.
Mike had known Roy for over 40 years. Mike fondly recollects Roy`s dry, sense of humor. Mike will always treasure the times they spent fishing together. We will sadly miss him and wish to send sincere condolences to Beverly and family.

My memories of Roy also go back to the Pines. Roy and Ione were close family friends along with their children. We spent hours together in the summers on the water or building our cabin. Roy was such a gentle man with a great laugh. I know he will be missed by so many.
Sending love and prayers to his family. God Bless.
