Rosalie Marie Palazzo went peacefully surrounded by loved ones to be with our Lord on February 2, 2018. She was born on March 12, 1931 in Bronx, New York. She was the youngest child of Anthony and Carmella DeCarlo.
Since the day she was born, Rosalie was a vibrant and genuine soul. Growing up, Rosalie loved to dance. Throughout her childhood and teenage years, she danced alongside her brother, Peter in numerous recitals and performances. She met the love of her life, Lawrence Palazzo in 1952, while bowling, another of her favorite hobbies. They fell deeply in love and got married on June 26, 1954.
They started their family shortly after, having their first child, Larraine in April 1955. Two years later they moved their family to Italy, and had their only son, Christopher, in 1959. They returned back to New York in 1962 and completed their family with Marisa (1962) and Gina (1964).
Eventually, Rosalie and Doc settled in Glasgow in 1981. Here, Rosalie quickly became a loved and respected member of the community. She was a loyal member of the Soroptimist, Bible Study, PCCW and Hospital Guild. She enjoyed golf, bingo and playing the slot machines. She was an avid knitter who initiated the “Baby Hat” program at Frances Mahon Deaconess Hospital.
Her greatest blessing in life was becoming a grandmother to four grandsons and one granddaughter. She was a proud and dedicated grandma, and her life became even more complete with the births of her two great-granddaughters in 2017.
Rosalie is survived by her loving husband, Dr. Lawrence Palazzo; brother, Peter DeCarlo (Mary); children Larraine Eiland (Pete), Chris Palazzo, Marisa Brockmier, and Gina Hirsch (Dave); grandchildren Jeffrey Eiland, Emily Miller (Zach), Nick Hirsch (Sarah), Zack Hirsch (Chelsea), and Miles Palazzo; great-grandchildren Charlotte Miller and Rowan Hirsch; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brother Jack; son-in-law Wade Brockmier.
Rosalie was loved by everyone who knew who her and will be forever missed.

So saddened at the loss of my favorite Aunt, Rosalie, who I called Aunt Sis. Aunt Sis was a vibrant person who enjoyed life to the fullest. She always wanted to have fun and, consequently, was a fun person to be around. Along with her husband, my Uncle Lawrence, she spent a great deal of time with my parents, Katherine and Gabe, going to parties, events and traveling. The four of them got along so well together it was a pleasure to know they were having a great time whatever they were doing. Aunt Sis always seemed happy. She loved to laugh and did it often. She liked adventures and had many. She was a kind, loving and good-hearted person who lit up any room she was in. She was adored by her family and cherished by her friends. I’ve known her my whole life and though I hadn’t seen her in a very long time, I have only fond memories of the times we did spend together. Aunt Sis always liked trying new things in her life and at one point, I think it was in the 1970s-80s, she got interested in ceramics. She made beautiful creations and gave them to relatives as gifts. I loved the ones she gave to me, and still have them. I think of her every time I look at them, and now they are even more special to me as they will be a constant reminder of the happy, generous and loving person she was. I’ll miss you Aunt Sis. With love always, Robert
