Ronald Lawrence Bishop, age 69, of Glasgow, Montana passed away on September 22, 2023 at his home.
Ron was born in Straubig, Germany to Mary and D.L. Bishop on February 14, 1954, where they lived until Ron was two. His dad, who was in the Air Force, was then transferred to Lubbock Texas, the family moved around the US following his dad.
Ron went to high school at Great Falls High- where he met his high school sweetheart Cindy Meiers. They married in April of 1972, with Ron graduating in May. While working at the car wash Ron and Cindy welcomed their first child Renae. He took a job in 1974 with Boeing, moving the family to Minot, North Dakota, and later to Lakota, North Dakota, where Randy joined the family. Boeing wanted to send Ron to Missouri, which caused a call to his Father-in-law Duane asking for a job. This was the beginning of Ron’s career with BNSF. He worked in the track department and later as a trainman for 36 years.
Ron enjoyed welding and bowling for 40+ years. He spent much of his free time with the crew at Northwestern Energy.
He was proud of his family, Renae Bishop of Minot, North Dakota, Randy (Liz) Bishop of Spring Creek, Nevada and two grandchildren Skyla and Kyson.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Cindy; daughter Renae; son Randy (Liz); grandchildren Skyla and Kyson; brother in-laws Duane (Dana), Bob (Jill) and Mike (Becky). Ron was preceded in death by his parents Mary and D.L., brother Dennis, in-laws Duane and Shirley Meiers, and grandson Bryce.

Cindy, Renae and Randy B. Our hearts are with you in this time of sorrow. I think back to LL days and all the help Ron was to our baseball team. He was always ready to help in any way he could. He was a lifesaver to me when I coached the team and tried to keep the field in good condition. He was always there to help. Always enjoyed talking to Ron at bowling. He will be missed.
