Robert James Golimowski, age 77, passed away April 17, 2023 at his home in Glasgow, Montana.
Bob was born December 26, 1945 in Buffalo, NY. He attended Catholic Grammar School where he quickly became friends with the nuns and their rulers. He then graduated from Emerson Vocational High School in 1965. Bob entered the Air Force in February 1966 where he was assigned to Sheppard AFB, Texas for training in Jet Aircraft Mechanics. He graduated in June 1966 as a jet mechanic and reported to Malmstrom AFB in Great Falls, Montana where he met the love of his life, Dianna Kittleson. Bob and Dianna married March 18, 1967. Shortly after, his unit was assigned temporary duty in Okinawa and South Korea where he served for nearly seven months. In June of 1969, he was honorably discharged from the US Air Force. With wife and daughter in tow, he moved to Glasgow, Montana where he accepted a job with AVCO at the former Glasgow AFB as a machine repairman. He later took a job at Valley Rural Telephone as a Telephone Combination Man where he devoted 32 years.
Bob was a man of great faith. He was an active member in the Methodist Church where he served on the board and taught Sunday school. Bob was a member of the VFW, active in the Honor Guard, and was very proud of his service in the Air Force.
Bob was an avid Buffalo Bills fan, and you could hear him yelling at the TV through every game whether they were winning or losing. He is still waiting for the big Super Bowl win.
Bob also enjoyed spending time in his shop– building baby chairs, toy boxes, planters, bird houses, and shelves for his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also built a beautiful China hutch for Dianna. He enjoyed gardening and the farmers market, but he always grumbled about taking care of the chickens! Bob was very social and could be found visiting with anyone he ran into on his daily trips to town with his trusty sidekick, Oscar. Of all the things he enjoyed, his greatest love was spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. It was easy to make Bob laugh until he cried, but for his grandchildren the real success was when Grandpa laughed so hard, he snorted.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Dianna; children: Brenda (Ed) Kocer of Alexandria, SD, Jenny (Kirk) Sibley of Nashua, MT, Christy (Ryan) Morris of Billings, MT, Jodi (Gary) Shoemaker of Boise, ID, Josh Golimowski of Billings, MT, Crystal (Chris) Bauch of Great Falls, MT, and Gloria Golimowski of Butte, MT. Grandchildren: Brittney Henderson, Kassidi (Shane) Knuchel, Tanner Fischer, Morgan Fischer, Madison (Jonathan) Cornelia, Walker (Amber) Fischer, Makenna Kramer, Shelby McIntosh, Sawyer Sibley, Klaire Morris, Savannah McIntosh, Dalton Bauch, Haylie McIntosh, Kacie Morris, Dylan Bauch, Brooklynn Kocer, Delaney Shoemaker, Grady Shoemaker, Becky (Allen) Gengler, Derek Kocer; seven great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and over 50 foster children.
He was preceded in death by: his mother Angie Golimowski, brother Frank Golimowski, father and mother-in-law Dorval and Blanche Kittleson, brother-in-law Michael Kittleson, sisters-in-law Holly Kittleson and Colleen Kittleson.

I am so sorry to your family. Bob seemed like a very loving man. He always seemed so happy to sell eggs to me. I had no idea chickens weren’t his favorite. If I had know, I would have bought more eggs at the farmers market, to make him feel better about the chickens. Bless you all.
