Condolences to the family, comfort and peace to all.
I have many memories of Shu as we traveled to Alaska, Arizona and of course to Wisconsin and Iowa!
We had so many good times going to garage sales to pick up forgotten guitars that he quickly made over to give to others. He was amazed that my Garmin in my car could find all his old haunts! Then in Alaska we all got a chuckle when he was confused that North Pole had been moved! Actually, a highway was put in on the other side of it that confused him. He knew right where it was at! He was so thrilled to get a sombrero in Arizona for Hadynn. He told her to look in the hatband as the old-timers hid money in there. Sure enough she found $5 there in her new sombrero. He had that twinkle in his eyes as he played tricks on friends and family. We will all miss you Shu!

If the weather was better, I would drive straight thru to get there, just like Shu used to do! We would stop at Tower City to eat fish and where the big cow stands to have an orange-aid!

As a card-carrying member of the Bob Schumacher He-Man Woman Haters Club, I feel a need to be there, too. I simply can’t be there on Thursday. Bob will always have a most special place in my heart. I never eat a piece of catfish without thinking of Bob. I never hear a good Bluegrass song without thinking of Bob. He was a formative part of my youth, and he will live on in our hearts and memories. Rest in peace, you old stubborn, brilliant musician. I will always love you! Cheri.

Shu holds a special place in my heart. I did get to help celebrate the 100th. He always told me he would make and he did and then some!
