Ray Brandt passed away March 8th at Francis Mahon Deaconess Hospital after a three year battle with cancer. He was born to Herb and Luella Brandt September 19, 1935 in Scobey. He lived on the family ranch south of Peerless for most of his life. He married Mona Eayrs on June 7, 1967 in Peerless Lutheran Church. They raised two sons, Herb and Shayne.
Ray is survived by his wife Mona and two sons Herb and Shayne (Chanda) Brandt; five siblings, Walt (Cessy) Brandt, Floyd (Bev), Alice (Kent) Drury, Inez (George) Kegel, and Ardith (Larry) Kegel.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Herb and Luella, and three sisters, Myrtle (Chet) Nygaard, Bernice (Gene) Meldrum, and Verna, who passed at an early age.
Ray’s love of horses carried through his whole life. He built many buggies, wagons, a stage coach and even a mini wagon for his daughter-in-law. He went on every wagon Train and trail ride he could. He was a livestock leader for the 4-H kids. Ray was a brand inspector for many years. If anyone needed help with livestock he would give them a hand. He will be missed by his family and friends.
The funeral arrangements will be set for later this spring.
