Pearl Carol Wesen, 95, of Glasgow, MT passed away peacefully on March 10, 2018 at Valley View Home.
Pearl was born January 1, 1923 in Lwow, Poland to her parents William and Annie (Fidunchuk) Zamotsny. She received her education at Grassland, Alberta in Canada. After graduation, she attended nurses training in Edmonton Alberta and later received her Licensed Practical Nursing Degree.
While in Edmonton she met and married the love of her life Clayton A. Wesen on August 19, 1944. They were stationed in New Orleans, LA while Clayton was in the military, where they lived in the French Quarter. Later they relocated to Glasgow, MT which became their lifelong home and they started their family. She and her dance partner of 62 years, lived and loved together. Family and friends were Pearl’s passion and delight. Her warm smile could always light up any room she entered. Her grandchildren were a huge part of her life. She rarely missed events they participated in and was always their biggest fan. She loved writing letters to family members who did not live nearby. She constantly wanted them to know she was thinking of them and held them all close to her big heart.
Pearl was a member of First Lutheran Church, ELCW, Sarah’s Circle, lifetime member of Odd Fellows and Rebekah’s, American Legion Auxiliary, Birthday Club, Home Demonstration Club, Boots and Belles Square and Round Dancing Club three days a week, a First Lutheran Church Quilter and many more. Pearl was a lady of many talents cooking, gardening, baking, knitting, croqueting, and sewing on a daily basis which kept her busy and she was always giving. Her baking and sewing talents won multiple rosettes from the Valley County Fair. Pearl worked at FMDH for over 40 years. Her door was always open to whomever wanted to come visit, at the same time you would never leave empty handed, or hungry.
Pearl is survived by her children, Evelyn (Ivyl) Wells of Mountain Home, ID, Patricia (Ronald) Garwood of Nashua, MT, Gary Wesen of Glasgow, MT, and Beverly (Mark) Falcon of Billings, MT; eight grandchildren, Stacy Garwood of Nashua, MT, Seth Garwood of Nashua, MT, Greg (Emily) Wells of Meridian, ID, Shawn Garwood of Glasgow, MT, Eric (Sarah) Wells of Eagle, ID, Michael (Cortney) Falcon of Billings, MT, Steven Falcon of Billings MT, and Kimberly (Taylor) Shanahan of Great Falls, MT; twelve great-grandchildren; a brother; a sister; three sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding Pearl in death is her beloved husband Clayton; her parents; four sisters, two brothers, and a grandchild.
Family will receive friends 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. on Friday, March 16, 2018 at Bell Mortuary in Glasgow, MT. Funeral Services will be held 3:00 p.m. Saturday, March 17, 2018 at First Lutheran Church in Glasgow, MT with Pastor Todd Wright officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery in Glasgow, MT. Memorials can be made in Pearl’s name to the First Lutheran Church of Glasgow, FMDH Foundation or Valley View Foundation.
