Mary Lou Eide, age 90, of Glasgow, Montana passed away January 9, 2018 in Glasgow.
Mary Lou was born Mary Lois Nell Molvig to Susan Walde Molvig and Ole Christopher Molvig. Mary Lou was raised in the Tampico area where she attended several of the rural schools before the family moved to Glasgow.
Mary Lou graduated from Glasgow High School in 1945. After graduation, Mary Lou worked at several jobs including the Glasgow Stock Yards before going to work at the Valley County Clerk and Recorder’s Office. Mary Lou was elected as Valley County Clerk and Recorder in 1955 and was re-elected until she retired 1998.
After Mary Lou retired, she was able to spend her days with Harold farming and ranching. Mary Lou met Harold in high school and they were married in 1948. Loving her job as Clerk and Recorder, as Mary Lou did, it was easy to see that working with Harold was what Mary Lou enjoyed most. While working for the county, Mary would drive to the ranch in the spring, when the road was passable. May Lou would fix supper on a wood stove and get up to check cows throughout the night. Mary Lou would then return to Glasgow in the morning to go back to work.
Mary Lou was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; her parents; brother Glen “Buddy” and sisters Evelyn and Betty Ann.
Mary Lou is survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
We would like to thank the Schlabs, DeDobbeleers and the Borseths for the care and consideration they showed Mary Lou.
A Celebration of Life for Mary Lou will be 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at Bell Mortuary in Glasgow, Montana with Pastor Bonnie Novak officiating. Burial will follow at the Highland Cemetery. A luncheon will be held following burial at the Cottonwood Inn. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Mary Lou’s name to Valley View Home, FFA or 4-H. Condolences may be left at bellmortuarymontana.com.

Mary Lou was good friends with my mother Amarlys Moecker Weinmeister. They were always having fun riding horses and being cowgirls in the 50s. When I came along my mother named me after her friend Mary Lou. Always felt honored to be her namesake. May she forever rest in peace.
