Lila Joan Erickson (Jo) as she was best known, passed away from cancer at her home in Laughlin, NV, on February 6, 2015. She was born to Harry and Mary Eustis on July 4, 1936, in Williston, ND. Jo attended schools in Williston, ND until 7th grade when she moved to Glasgow and graduated from Glasgow High School in 1955.
In 1960 she married Melvin (Buddy) Erickson and together they had 5 boys, Tony, Lyndon (Lynn), Barry, Brian and Jeff. They later divorced and she never remarried.
Jo worked for the phone company for several years in Glasgow and when they moved the office she went to work for Woolworths until she moved back to Williston, ND, where she worked for O.K, Tire Company until she retired. Upon retirement, she moved to the Laughlin, NV/Bull Head City, AZ area where the weather was warm and she could enjoy Bingo and Cards on a regular basis. She made several good friends in the area and enjoyed their company.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers Cyril, Harry Albert, and LeRoy Eustis, 3 sisters Fern (Ardean) Running, Eileen Vogel, Mary (Ellis) Jennings, and 1 son Barry Allan Erickson.
Survivors include: 4 sons Tony Erickson of Gillette, WY, Lyndon (Leah) Erickson of Spokane, WA, Brian Erickson of Wolf Point, MT, Jeff Erickson and dog Tandy of Ft. Mohave, AZ, 1 daughter Annell (Don) O’Neill of Milwaukie, OR. Several grandchildren including Jason (Amanda) Erickson of Missoula, MT, Nicole (Jeff) Thomas, Lindsey (Kevin) Edwards, Cassidy Erickson all of Spokane, WA, Chelsee Lenztner of Denver, CO, Treston Erickson and Tesla Erickson both of Baker, MT. Joseph O’Neill of Lansing, KS, Benjamin O’Neill of Portland, OR and Thomas (Lea Anna) O’Neill of West Linn, OR. Great Grandchildren include Mayla Marie Edwards, Luna Jo Ybarra, Winston Keith Thomas, and Olen William O’Neill. Numerous Nieces and Nephews.
Jo donated her body to science and was cremated in Arizona. There will be a memorial service to be held on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at 3:00 PM at the Bell Mortuary Sanctuary with a Celebration of Life following at the Cottonwood Inn all in Glasgow, MT.
