Kimberly Jessica Bates Wilson, age 30, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on July 5, 2018. Memorial services will be held Wednesday, July 11 at 1:00 pm at the Evangelical church, with internment at the Highland Cemetery in Glasgow. A public reception at the Glasgow Elks Lodge will follow.
Kimberly was born to Russ and Patty Elletson Bates on September 10, 1987 in Las Vegas, Nevada along with her twin sister, Krysta Jeannine Bates. They were embraced by their sister, Meagan Christine. Krysta went home to her Heavenly Father on September 14, 1987. Kimmy and her family lived in several states, settling in Poulsbo, WA in 1993. Kimmy, along with her mom and sister, moved to Glasgow in 1999.
Kim loved to SING! She had a voice that won her many singing competitions and accolades over the years. But, after her Grandpa Glenn passed away in 2001, she was challenged to find that voice in her heart. The song went silent for years.
Kimmy attended schools in Washington and Montana. She graduated from Glasgow High School in 2006. On July 31, 2008 (Grandpa Glenn’s birthday) we feared we would lose her after a horrific car accident from which she was ejected. She was blessed to have angels watch over her (perhaps her Grandpa Glenn? Her sister Krysta?) who chose Dean Hawkins that happened to come upon the accident and call for help. Kimmy and Dean had a very loving bond from that day forward. She miraculously recuperated and decided “life is too short” as she packed up and headed back to Washington to be with the love of her life, Dan Wilson. They were married May 29, 2010 in Glasgow.
Kim was embattled with epileptic seizures until 2012 when she underwent a surgical procedure, receiving a stimulator to aid in her fight. And fight she did! Life was rarely easy for Kim, so she battled on for those she held so dear. She loved her husband and her children to the ends of this earth and showed that every day. She had a knack of caring for people and wanting to help them. When you met Kim, you were no longer a stranger, you were her friend. She was fun, loving, giggly, and loved to sing and dance. She loved dance-offs with Hunter and her “little cousins”. They just loved her so and wanted to spend all their time with her.
Kim was preceded in death by her sister Krysta, Grandparents Jess and Tiny Bates and her Grandpa Glenn Elletson. She is survived by her cherished husband and best friend, Daniel and their two children, her “every breath and every heartbeat” Hunter Dean and Jack Henry. Kimmy is also survived by her mother Patty Schedel and Eric, father Russ and Cindy Bates, sister Meagan Wersal, niece and nephew Kelbi and Asher Wersal, Grandmother Jeannine Elletson, father-in-law Dan Wilson, mother-in-law Marilyn McArdle, sisters-in-law Tina Taylor and Alyssa Jordan. Uncles and Aunts include Carson and Terri Bates, Don and Judy Elletson, Deb Elletson and RJ, Donna and Gary Dascher. Cousins Travis Hayes, Marcie and Travis Kittleson, Mitch Young and Stormy, Josh and Kayla Dascher, Jeanelle Dascher, John and McKenzie Kalinski, Jeff and Cami Kalinski, DJ Elletson and Hannah, Randy Elletson, Amanda and James Haney. Her “little cousins” Elle, Brantley, Tasha, Carson, Audrey, Koby, Keevan, Kadia, Kerrick, Easton, Hattie and many more cousins, aunts, uncles, relatives and friends. This kind, loving, bubbly, sweet soul will be missed by all. Your voice is back Kimmy! Heaven sings with a new angel in its choir.

Oh Kimmy we all know you are in a better place but right now we are all going to be selfish because we want you here with us. There are no words that we can say so we won’t. All we will say is RIP Kimmy and we love you.

Kimmie Jessica – now I understand…my alter ego is Jessie….you were such a blessing to my son Daniel and when we were able to visit in Twin Falls, this Last May you were so attentive to your sons. You really were living in Love. Your sons will always have you in their hearts as will Daniel and all of us who knew you. When loved ones are gone…we miss the best of them…and nothing will fill that hole in our hearts. God Bless you and Rest Peacefully.

Thoughts and prayers for all of Kimmie’s family. I so remember the day she walked into my 6th grade class. Such a beautiful girl and all the 6th grade boys fell in love with her. They would fight to be able to carry her books to class. Rest in peace!!

So sorry to your family – gone too soon! Kimmy always had a smile on her face and a light in her eye and made you feel like you always had known her at first meeting. Such a special person?

I join with the others in Mom’s and More who are so sad at this news. We know you are singing like a bird up in Heaven, but it means we are missing an angel. Prayers and condolences. You’ll always be in our memories, beautiful and smiling.

I’m so sorry for your loss. I hope you find comfort in Jesus words at John 5:28,29. There Jesus promised a resurrection of our loved ones, saying that the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out. These resurrected ones will inherit the earth, as Jesus spoke about in Matthew chapter 5. Then, under the rule of God’s Kingdom, they will enjoy life the way God originally intended, in perfect health with no sorrow, pain or death. (Psalms 37:29. Isaiah 33:24. Revelation 21:4). What a wonderful time that will be! Please accept my condolences.

We were going through old records and started to talk about the wonderful child care providers our children had growing up. We started talking about Patty Bates and how she lovingly took care of our daughter Krista in Las Vegas. Kimmy was about the same age as Krista and although they were very young, we’re best buds at the daycare. We used to comment on how our Krista was so close in age to their Krysta, who sadly passed as an infant. I only remember Kimmy as a young child but my heart broke when I came upon this obituary. From reading this memorial and seeing others memories, Kimmy grew up to be a wonderful person and the world is a better place because she was here. God bless Patty and Russ. It is so sad when a parent has to say goodbye to their child.
