Francine (Vande Wiele) Jensen, 87, of Hinsdale, Montana passed away October 23, 2020 at Valley View Home in Glasgow, Montana of natural causes.
Francine was born on July 18, 1933 in a cabin on Beaver Creek, west of Hinsdale, to Cyril and Mary (Martinetto) Vande Wiele. She was the youngest of six children and often boasted that she was delivered by her Aunt Elsie Bundus!! As there was only one boy in the family, Francine was fondly called “Frankie.”
Francine graduated from Hinsdale High School and shortly thereafter married Daniel Jensen. She was happy to be a stay-at-home mom raising their four children.
She was active in the Hinsdale Community and she loved her Lord. Francine’s talents were put to use giving piano lessons, decorating cakes, singing for weddings, funerals and community events, teaching Sunday School and helping around church. She was known as an “unofficial referee” for basketball games!! Her home was always open, friends and family could always have a cinnamon roll and a cup of coffee.
Preceding her in death are her parents; her husband; and several siblings.
Francine is survived by her children: Dean (Terrie) Jensen, Paul (Dorothy) Jensen, Carter (Kristi) Jensen and Kris (Tim) Braach; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Margie Elhardt; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be private family Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at the Hinsdale Lutheran Church in Hinsdale, Montana. Burial will be open to the public at 3:00 p.m., October 28, 2020 at Hillview Cemetery. The family requests that those attending to follow the county Covid -19 mandates. My thoughts and prayers for Francine’s family. May all of you find comfort in your memories of a wonderful Mom, Mother-in Law, Grandma, Great Grandma, and Aunt. She’ll long be remembered for her kind words of encouragement, her piano playing, caking baking, and cookie making.

Our sympathy to the Jensen family. LeRoy always enjoyed working for and with Francine on many house projects. She loved her cat and Carter’s dog. She made me smile with her pet stories.

Francine. Dear, lovely, spunky, delightful, energetic, intelligent, made of Earth and Heaven, a bit of stardust, and a healthy dose of mischief. You will be missed. Few people have a light that shine as bright as yours. No one who ever met you will forget you, for you possessed something special; welcoming everyone fortunate enough to know you into a warm circle of love and caring. Your kitchen gave all who entered an instant feeling of home, and safety, of laughter and a certainty that whatever happened out in the vast world, nothing in your grasp was insurmountable. We will treasure always your stories around the kitchen table, always with some mouth-watering goodies fresh out of the oven; we will remember fondly the banter between you and Daniel as the pure light of love shone brightly through you both. Didn’t take much imagination to be right there in the tiny home where you and Daniel started, listening to you tell how you loved it; Daniel teasing you about how it was only two rooms because you made it so by hanging curtains! So many life lessons have radiated from the simple joy you bring, the honest way you treat all people, the appreciation you have for each of your blessings–no matter how small.
Among the many, many lives you touched, we are especially grateful to have been blessed to be in your orbit, however briefly. Because every time we were around you we departed better people than we were when we came. Thank you for being such a special person to so many. Rest peacefully with your Daniel in the arms of the Lord, and know in your heart how loved you are, as we all know we were loved by you. Thank You.

Dean, Paul, Kriss, Carter and families, Your Mom and Dad were and will always be my “other parents” . I will always remember her laughter and love of family, as well as devotion to her faith. Her “slimmin rolls” were the best!!!! We know she is at peace and lived life well. Love you all!!!!
