Ella (Erck) Schlabs, 92, passed away May 31, 2018 at Valley View Home in Glasgow, Montana due to complications of a stroke.
Ella resided at Nemont Manor, Prairie Ridge Village and for a little over a year at Valley View Nursing Home.
Mom was born January 12, 1926 in Esmond, North Dakota. She was the eldest child of three born to Joe and Christine (Gummeringer) Erck. Shortly after graduating from Esmond High School in 1943, she moved to Washington State to work at a military hardware facility.
She met Dave Schlabs upon his return from WWII. They married in Tacoma, Washington on May 18, 1946. They later made Medicine Lake, Montana their home.
Ella was an excellent cook: working at Norm’s Café for a number of years. She left behind a beautiful handwritten cookbook of her favorite recipes. Early in her life she attended Dakota Business College and later attended Billings Business College. She worked a number of years for the R.E.C. in Medicine Lake and later retired.
Ella was preceded in death by her parents; Joe and Christine, her husband Dave and brother Cletus.
She is survived by three sons: Dave (Carla) of Williston, North Dakota, Terry (Bev) of Spirit Lake, Idaho, and Darryl (Mary) of Nashua, Montana; brother Gerald (Joan) Erck of Escondido, California; grandchildren Stacey, Tyson and Tiffiny; great-grandchildren Harli and Mason; six step-grandchildren; step-great-grandchildren and step-great-great-grandchildren.

i wasso sorry to read about your mother. i enjoyed becoming aquainted with her again when i was at nemont manor. she was so proud of her boys.
