Dolores Mae (Albert) Brown, 73, passed away peacefully on March 2nd, 2018 at the Valley View Nursing Home in Glasgow, Montana from complications of Alzheimer’s disease, surrounded by her friends and daughter Samantha.
She was born on July 18th, 1944 in Williston, North Dakota to Fred and Frances (Johnson) Albert. She moved to Glasgow when she was in the 6th grade and graduated with honors from Glasgow High School in 1963. She married Gordon L. Brown on June 1st, 1963. They have three children Gordon II, Samantha and Cassia.
Dolores’ first job was at the Dairy Queen in Glasgow, where she made fifty cents per hour. She worked as a bookkeeper for several different businesses in Glasgow including Adrian’s, Sam’s Supper Club, Glasgow Distributors, Sinclair Distributors and Valley Drug. When Valley Drug closed in 2004 she retired.
She was very active in the First Lutheran Church. She and her friend Kelly Archambeault started their daily walks in 1988 and continued to walk together for 25 years.
She had a very special bond with her mother-in-law Virginia Svingen and would visit her often at her home and when Virginia went to live at Valley View Nursing Home, Dolores would drive up to visit her daily. Dolores was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in 2010 and soon realized herself that she should not drive anymore.
She loved her family very much and made sure everyone was always taken care of. She hosted many Christmases over the years and absolutely loved having the whole family together. She adored her children and grandchildren and always put everyone else before herself. She was the most giving, caring, kind, honest and loving person you would ever meet.
