Daniel “Dan” Duane Rogenes, age 36, passed away on August 30, 2020 in Glasgow, Montana.
Dan was born January 9, 1984 in Tillamook, Oregon, to David and Cindy (Hanlon) Rogenes. When he was three, his family moved to Hebo, Oregon. He received his early education at Hebo Elementary School before moving to Glasgow with his family in 1992. Glasgow became Dan’s home for the rest of his life.
After Dan’s grandfather became sick, Dan spent his summers living with his grandparents, Myron and Arlene in Ashland, Montana. Dan’s emotional bond with his grandparents was beyond compare. Dan was happy to help them. Like his parents, Dan had a heart for people. His time in Ashland was the start of a life devoted to serving others.
Dan participated in a number of Glasgow High School activities. These experiences created lifelong bonds with his classmates. He often laughed about playing the first half of the homecoming football game, then marching in the halftime show rather than meeting with coaches, before returning to play the third quarter. Daniel graduated from Glasgow High School in 2002. During High School, Dan started working with Stumvoll Electric.
In nine years at Stumvoll Electric, Dan developed skills he used to bless the people around him. His work brought him to Libby for a brief time, but he returned to Glasgow in 2008. After working with Odegard Construction, Dan started his own company, Muddy Milk Construction. In 2012, Dan saw opportunity in the North Dakota oil fields, and went to work in oil production.
Dan was a light in the oil field. His physical skills fit perfectly, and his emotional intelligence set him apart. Dan worked with men from all over the country and from all walks of life. Knowing the importance of feeling connected, he took the initiative to unite them as family with homecooked meals, friendly smiles, and encouraging words. Dan was the glue. Dan excelled because, above all, he loved people.
Dan adored his friends and family. He always asked about their kids. He loved hearing about their accomplishments, and he was sure to brag about each milestone of success. He loved to give presents. His gifts were always thoughtful. They often helped develop a skill or achieve a personal goal. When it came to his nieces and nephews, even the best wasn’t good enough.
He left us hopeful and loving life.
Dan is survived by his parents, David and Cindy Rogenes of Alexandria, MN; his siblings, Nicole (Cameron) Metzgar of Port Alsworth, AK, Ryan (Erin) Rogenes of Aberdeen, SD, Matthew Rogenes (Elise Creed) of New Orleans, LA, Rebekah Rogenes (Patrick Flanigan) of Wasilla, AK; nine nieces and nephews, Hazel Metzgar, Augustine Metzgar, Max Metzgar, Joshua Schaunaman, Aiden Schaunaman, Hailey Rogenes, Lincoln Rogenes, Julie Flanigan, Ayla Flanigan, baby Flanigan due in December; and many loved aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Due to Covid-19 and the state of Montana social distancing mandate, there will not be a family receiving line after the service. The family requests that you please wear a mask when you are unable to maintain 6 feet distance from non-household members.
The family suggests memorials be donated to the Madison Chatten Foundation. The service will be streamed live on the Glasgow Evangelical Church’s Facebook page. Online condolences may be left at bellmortuarymontana.com. Arrangements are being made by Bell’s Mortuary of Glasgow, MT.

Such a tragic loss to your amazing family. What all of you have meant to my daughter and done for her over the years is only that of what the love of a family can do. Dan and your family have such a huge place in Sheena’s heart. He was always such a “gentle man” and will long be remembered in my heart also. Feeling so fortunate that we had the privilege of visiting with him in June. We will be praying for you all.

John Storud and I took over the Gateway Club last May. We
had the privilege of knowing Dan. He was such a kind
soul. He came into the Gateway to have lunch or dinner
and his Coors Light. We called him Coors Light Dan
He was so talented in so many things. John and him had
a lot of conversations concerning fishing and just maintaining
a lot of things at our business. He gave him a lot of
good advice and what to do. We will miss him terribly
May God be with his family and friends. He will be truly
missed.
