Bennie Joe Hallock (Uncle Bennie), 85, of Glasgow, Montana peacefully passed away at Francis Mahon Deaconess Hospital with family by his side on June 1st, 2024. Bennie was born to Kenneth and Ethel (Bruch) Hallock in Opheim, Montana, on August 25th, 1938. He joined brothers Ralph and Earl along with their sister, Phyllis. Bennie was born and raised in Opheim. He was the fourth child to be born, but not the last. Ten years later the family welcomed Dianna.
Bennie married Dolly Isakson in 1962 and made their home in Opheim. They welcomed two children, Betty and Kennie, before the marriage dissolved.
Bennie had many jobs and hobbies over the years. He was a farmer, rancher, elevator laborer, and butcher. He also ran a septic tank business with his dad, eventually taking over the “honey wagon” on his own. He was always busy doing something. He loved making caramels for his family and friends during the holidays, and everyone looked forward to receiving them. In the summer, no family meal was complete without his famous potato salad. He loved dancing and enjoyed the dances held in the community. He volunteered at the Valley County Senior Citizen Center, where he delivered Meals on Wheels and made many great friends. Bennie was a helpful and kind person.
Bennie and Audrey Marquart were companions for many years, and it grew into a beautiful relationship. He helped Audrey raise her children and they became his children as well. Their partnership lasted 34 years, until the time of Audrey’s passing.
Bennie is survived by sisters Phyllis (Louie) Stratton of Plentywood, Dianna Isakson of Glasgow and their families; sons Kennie (Jetra) Hallock, Bruce Marquart, Sonny Marquart, Pete (Sandy) Marquart, Franc Marquart, Keith Marquart, and former son-in-law Earl Dowell; daughters Betty (Kevin) Lawrence, Gerrie (Chuck) Good, Vi (Ross) Marsh, and Pearl (Ole) Marquart, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.
Bennie is preceded in death by his parents Kenneth and Ethel Hallock, brothers Ralph and Earl, partner Audrey Marquart, daughter Denise Schleqel, and son Pat Marquart, as well as longtime brother-in-law and best friend Clifford Isakson.

Dear family,
I got to know Bennie while working at Earls Body Shop back in the 90’s. What a great man! So funny and that laugh!!!! And yes, I was honored with the gift of caramels! I hope he left the recipe with you! He’s gonna be missed for sure.

I will always love Benny. He was there for me whenever I needed a person. While there I was a single parent and he helped with my son and when I lost Cory he was there through the whole thing. I thank God for having him in my life. He will be missed and Benny stay that same person in heaven and I will see you again. But years are still flowing. I love you Benny

Bennie, I am so happy that I met you at the Senior Citizens. You were such a kind and generous man. When you would come in for coffee, you would make me laugh. I’m really going to miss you, your laughter, your sense of humor, and most of all your smile. R.I.P. MY awesome friend. ❤️
